Step Into History at the Noe Pond Club
The Noe Pond Club, a member-owned, non-profit family swim club, was founded in
1955 by Nancy Tasman Brower and Bailey Brower Jr. , The three-and-a-half-acre
pond, the Club's hallmark, has been an important part of the Chatham Township
community and Brower family history since the early 1800's. The well-fed pond served the family's
large dairy and fruit farm and also served as the local source of ice for the town's residents during the winter
months.
In 1955, the Browers repurposed the land, creating a beautiful beachfront club for members to enjoy. Today, the Club amenities include a large dock, diving boards, slides, a float, a variety of
small boats, a second white sand beach, fountains, ten Har-Tru and turf tennis
courts, a paddle hut with 4 lighted Paddle courts, a pavilion, playgrounds, the Club grill, picnic areas, clubhouse with locker rooms, a paved parking lot, and expansive
landscaped and well-maintained grounds.
Generations of families have learned to swim, dive, play tennis, and play paddle tennis
at Noe Pond Club. The swimming emblem program, unique to Noe Pond
Club, has provided incentive to thousands of children to learn to swim at a very
young age. The Club has also offered hundreds of teenagers their first employment
experience in our Kid's Programs and on the waterfront.
